  1. Introducing Mountain Net!

  3.         Let's face it!  Life in the Mountain Zone states is different than
  4. anywhere else.  We have cleaner air, purer water, the greatest snow, the
  5. greatest scenery and the greatest people on the planet.  We need a netmail
  6. system just for us.  Hence the proposal for the start of Mountain Net.
  7.  
  8.         First to become a member of Mountain Net you need to operate a BBS in
  9. one of the following Mountain Zone states: Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah,
  10. Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico.  I realize there are portions of other
  11. states that are also in the Mountain Time Zone.  If this pertains to you, you
  12. may also join.

  14.         Second, you must be able to handle qwk/rep compatible net mail on your
  15. system.  Such programs as Qmail, Qnet, MarkMail, Cam-Mail, etc. will allow you
  16. to do this.

  18.         Third, you must be willing to maintain a new net mail system.  No we
  19. will never have thousands of messages per day, this time zone is just not that
  20. heavily populated.  However, there is a purpose to serve and it can be done
  21. with adequate support.

  23.         There will be NO heavy policing of conferences and there will be only
  24. ONE administration conference that you will have to carry.  Other than that,
  25. you're on your own.

  27.         Mountain Net will be very favorable to requests for added conferences.
  28. I realize that not every conference will have mail daily, but only as needed.
  29. I don't believe in deleting conferences just because a conference didn't get
  30. 100 messages in it that month.  A conference should be there to be
  31. used as needed and when it is needed.

  33.         Thus far, Mountain Net has the following conferences:

  35.         Administration - a private area only for BBS sysops
  36.         Montana
  37.         Arizona
  38.         Idaho
  39.         Wyoming - for mail specific only to these states
  40.         Utah
  41.         Colorado
  42.         New Mexico
  43.         Viewer Mail - for anything for anybody!
  44.         Skiing - for all you snow bunnies
  45.         Baseball - for our new Colorado baseball team (finally)
  46.         Sightseeing - for those great areas to visit
  47.         Computers - anything and everything to do with computers
  48.         Modems - anything to do with modems and telecommunications
  49.         User Groups - we need to know about local User Groups
  50.         Religion
  51.         Debate
  52.         SciFi - anything pertaining to Science Fiction
  53.         ForSale - whatever you'd like to sell
  54.     Cats
  55.     Dogs
  56.     Monty Python
  57.     Utah Shakespearean Festival - this conference is officially
  58.         sponsored and maintained by the USF
  59.     (whatever else you want, we are growing quickly)

  61.         More conferences as we grow!

  63.         How do you join?  It's easy.  There are NO forms to fill out.  Just
  64. call BBS-Cedar City (Main Hub) and fill out script questionnaire #3 and your
  65. access to the Mountain Net will be granted within 24 hours (no kidding).  I
  66. will maintain a list of all BBS systems echoing Mountain Net and you may
  67. change hubs at any time.  I hope to have a Super Regional hub in each
  68. state and State Hubs echoing mail from each Super Regional Hub.

  70.         Come join us on a brand new net just for us of the forgotten Mountain
  71. Zone states!

  74. hours).  We use high speed USR modems on both nodes.   The 3935 number uses a
  75. Dual Standard modem.

  77.         If you are in the Mountain Time Zone state we need you!

  79.         Also, if there is a local net in your area that would like to join in
  80. on Mountain Net, we would be glad to have you.  We need to unite and become an
  81. informative solid group.
